Richard C. Edwards
Richard Edwards, 55, of Le Mars, formerly of Orange City, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at UnityPoint Health-St Luke’s in Sioux City.
Richard Charles was born on March 6, 1963, in Denver, Colorado, the son of Richard and Jean (Tesch) Edwards. He was raised in Paullina, where he graduated from high school.
On March 6, 1985, he married Georgia Lee Brazie in Sutherland. They made their home in Alton and Orange City. Georgia died on April 25, 2004, in Orange City.
“Rick” moved to Le Mars in 2012.
He was a member of the Alton Presbyterian Church.
For 30 years, Rick was employed by Wells Blue Bunny and Dean Foods in Le Mars, as a corrugator in the milk department.
He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Oakland Raiders and the St. Louis Cardinals, and he was particular about his lawn.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Taylor and Robbi Edwards, of Watertown, South Dakota; two daughters, Brittany Edwards, of Rockford, Illinois; and Amanda, and her husband, Brian Junck, of Le Mars; nine grandchildren, Rorri and Taelee Edwards; Aubrey, Berkleigh, and Lettie McGuire; and Matthew, Brandon, Makenna, and Gracelyn Junck; his parents, of Paullina; and a sister and her husband, Barb and Steve Klein of Iowa Falls.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Bentlee Edwards; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Alton Presbyterian Church in Alton. The Rev. Harlan De Jong will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton. Visitation will be after 5 p.m., today (Friday), with the family present from 5-7 p.m., at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.
