MMCRU Greenhouse Open House set for May 11-12
MARCUS - The MMCRU FFA Greenhouse will be having an open house on Friday, May 11 at
3:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. and May 12 at 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The shop and ag students have been working with the help of community members on the greenhouse during class in hopes of it being ready to show the community.
The greenhouse will have all sorts of different types of plants growing in there, such as lettuce and flowering vines. The greenhouse has a hydroponic system to grow the lettuce and the rest of the plants are growing to the traditional potting soil. There are also animals such as quail and chickens. The quails were hatched in the ag room by the ag students.
Mrs. Schroeder, Ms. Miller, and the ag students would like to thank all those individuals who volunteered their time to help build the greenhouse. A big thank you to Tom Holbach and Dan Erickson for taking charge and showing everyone what they need to do. The greenhouse would not have been built without everyone’s help.
The ag students would love to see as many community members as possible at the open house
on May 11 and May 12. Everyone that worked on the greenhouse is excited to show the
community what they have been working on. There will be plants of all kinds such as
hanging baskets, vegetables, and flowering vines to be available to take and free will donations are welcome. Hope everyone is able to make it and check out what the ag students have been working on all year.
