Pheasants Forever to hold Phun Fest
PLYMOUTH CO. — Youth ages 4 through 17 have an opportunity for a fun winter afternoon this Saturday, March 18.
Phun Fest, sponsored by the Plymouth County chapter of Pheasants Forever, will held from 4-7 p.m. in Century Hall at the Plymouth County Fairgrounds in Le Mars.
For a fee of $5 per child, children may participate in a number of fun activities, all related to the outdoors.
“We will have a variety of activities that promote outdoor recreation, such as a bird blind find, duck identification, minnow races, sling shot shooting, archery and air rifles and more,” said Victoria DeVos, event coordinator.
“Kids who participate will be entered into a drawing to win some great outdoor gear, such as a bow and arrows, BB guns, fishing gear, a rifle and shotgun,” she added.
Those who register by March 16 will be eligible for a special drawing.
In addition to the games and prizes, pizza will be served.
DeVos said Phun Fest has been going on for six or seven years.
“We do this to encourage kids and their families to be more active in the great outdoors,” she said.
She added the chapter is looking for a few more adult or high school aged volunteers to run activities. Interested parties should contact DeVos at 712-947-4270 to volunteer or to register.
