Hawks match season high in scoring in district-opening rout

REMSEN — Undefeated and No. 3 Remsen St. Mary’s started district play with an 83-50 rout of West Harrison on Thursday, February 15, matching their season-best in scoring which they had in the very first game of the season against Clay Central-Everly.

The offense was led by a stellar shooting night from Spencer Schorg who ended with 32 points. He hit 8-of-13 shots from beyond the arc, the only player to make a three as the rest of the team went a combined 0-of-7 from distance. Schorg added four assists and a pair of steals and rebounds.

Derrick Schorg ended with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor. He added four rebounds and assists.

Brody Ricke had 13 points to go along with team highs in assists (7) and rebounds (6).

Carter Kuchel led the team with three steals and added six points along with four rebounds and assists.

A total of 10 players scored in the contest for the Hawks.

RSM (22-0) will play West Monona at Kingsley on Tuesday, February 20.
