Royals reign over Siouxland Christian

SIOUX CITY — The MMCRU boys basketball team jumped out to a 10 point lead after a quarter and kept the game out of the reach of Siouxland Christian for a 58-51 win on Saturday, January 26. The win is the third of the season for the Royals and second in the team’s last three contests.

Hunter Tentinger led the team with a double-double, scoring a career-high 27 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. He also led the team with four steals.

Andrew Prescott added 15 points and seven rebounds while Chris Schmid had nine points with a pair of 3-pointers.

The Royals shot over 36 percent from the floor and held on despite going just 17-of-35 from the free-throw line.

MMCRU will look for its third win in four games as they travel to play Clay Central-Everly on Monday, January 29. The Royals won the first meeting 64-58 on Dec. 19 for their first win of the season.
