Royal Keglers lose at Home

The OA-BCIG Falcons payed a visit to the Royals’ bowling team on January 25. The boys put up a good fight in their first two games, but ended up losing to OABCIG 1881-1819. The boys tried to make a comeback in the baker games. They won the baker games 843-866 but lost the match 2724-2685. The girls won their first two games against the Falcons 1514-1424. The girls kept their lead and won the baker games 636-623. The MMCRU girls beat OABCIG with a match final of 2150-2047.

Cameron Miller was the highest bowler for the Royals with a total of 418 pins. Drew Pierce came in a very close second with 417 pins. Mitch Rhodes came in third with a total of 336 pins. Cody Dias came in a close fourth with 334 pins. Jake Anderson came in fifth with a total of 314 pins. Rounding out the Royals was Ethan Riedemann with 312 pins. The teams’ total pin count was 1819, which wasn’t enough to beat the Falcons, who scored a 1881.

The baker games were a war to see if the Royals could make a comeback and win the match. MMCRU took an early 16 pin lead, ending the first baker game 147-163. The Falcons managed to get a 30 pin lead, ending the second baker game 349-319. The Royals took the lead back and were able to get a ten pin lead, ending the third baker game 500-510. OABCIG were able to shrink MMCRU’s lead to eight pins, ending the fourth baker game 649-657. The Royals were able to secure their win by getting a 23 pin lead, ending the baker games with a final of 843-866. The Royals managed to win the baker games but ended up losing the match, the match total was 2724-2685 in favor of the Falcons.

Hailey Klein was the highest bowler for the Royals with a total of 327 pins. Megan Wurth came in a close second with 322 pins. Katlin Harvey came in a close third with a total of 319 pins. Bailey Penning came in fourth with 288 pins. Victoria Kollbaum came in fifth with a total of 258 pins. Rounding out MMCRU was Britney Specht with 249 pins. The team’s total was 1514, which beat out OABCIG’s 1424.

The baker games were a battle to see if MMCRU could keep their lead. The Falcons had a good start by getting an early 15 pin lead, ending the first baker game 115-130. The Royals were able to take a 16 pin lead, ending the second baker game 266-250. MMCRU managed to keep their 16 pin lead, ending the third baker game 399-383. The Falcons were able to shrink the Royals’ lead to ten pins, ending the fourth baker game 529-519. MMCRU was able to secure their win by getting a 13 pin lead, ending the baker games with a final of 636-623. The Royals won their first two games and their baker games, so they won the meet with a meet final of 2150-2047.
