Ruden reaches 1,000 benchmark in win

REMSEN — Nicholas Ruden sat out of Friday’s (December 8) game for Remsen St. Mary’s, but came back in Tuesday’s (December 12) 65-52 win over West Sioux to put up 21 points as he hit 1,000 points for his career.

Ruden needed 21 to reach the mark and hit exactly that number in the win. He also added six rebounds and a pair of blocks.

It was a slow start to the game according to RSM Head Coach Scott Ruden as the team trailed at halftime 28-26, but the team quickly took control in the third and pulled away in the final frame.

Brody Ricke added 16 points, five steals and three assists. Spencer Schorg went a perfect 8-for-8 at the free-throw line as he ended with 14 points to go along with five rebounds and two steals.

Derrick Schorg added six rebounds and two assists.

The Hawks (5-0) will host Kingsley-Pierson on Thursday, December 14.
