Kingsley-Pierson beats Westwood by 30
SLOAN ó Holding Westwood to single digits in every quarter, the Kingsley-Pierson boys basketball team won big over the Rebels on Tuesday, taking the game 57-27.
The Panthers scored in double digits in each of the quarters with a balanced statistical night all around. Jessen Reinking and Kyler Krieg each scored 12 points as the leading scorers for the team. Nathan Keck added 11 points and led the team with six steals. He also tied for top marks in rebounds with five and assists with four.
Cam Bainbridge had half of the teamís four blocks and ended with nine points. He also tallied four each of rebounds, assists and steals.
Tyler Sitzmann tied for most rebounds with five while also adding seven points. He was a perfect 3-of-3 shooting from the floor as the team shot 43 percent from the field. The number was dragged down by hitting just 4-of-18 from 3-point range.
The Rebels had been averaging 60 points per game entering the contest, but were held to under half of their season average as the team shot just 24 percent from the floor.
The Panthers held Drew Brekke to about half of his season average of nearly 21 points per game entering the contest. He ended with 10 points for the game.
K-P is now 2-0 after the win.
