Panthers miss Hirschman in loss to Westwood
SLOAN — Second-ranked Kingsley-Pierson suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday as Westwood took advantage of the Panthers being without leading scorer Addison Hirschman. Westwood won 68-44 as Hirschman and her average of over 23 points per game were absent from the court.
Sarah Drees, Westwood’s 6-foot-1 junior, took advantage of the mismatch as she scored 24 points, pulled down 15 rebounds, blocked six shots and dished out four assists.
Andee Martin nearly had a triple-double as she scored 14 points, had 10 assists and ended with nine rebounds.
The Panthers were outscored in all four quarters of the game and the 24 point final score deficit was the team’s worst loss since falling 93-37 to eventual state runner-up Lawton-Bronson in the 2012-13 season.
K-P shot a bleak 23 percent from the floor including hitting on just 1-of-13 attempts from beyond the arc.
Bradi Harvey led the Panthers with 11 points as he connected on the only 3-point basket of the night for the team. She also tied with Bri Jensen with three steals to lead the team. Jensen ended with 10 points for the panthers along with five rebounds.
Freshman Abbi Bailey came off the bench to score seven points.
Madelyn Neumann and Jayde Barto each ended with five points.
