Cluck returns kickoff for touchdown in Royals’ loss to Bishop Garrigan

ALGONA — Evan Cluck had the highlight of the night for MMCRU as he returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. It was the only score of the game for the Royals as they fell 42-7 to district leader Bishop Garrigan.

Cluck also had the best game offensively for the Royals as he gained 24 yards on 12 carries.

Tristen Olson completed 6-of-11 passes for 14 yards. Jordan Marks pulled down four of those catches for nine yards while Cluck, Chris Schmid and Drew Woodall each had a catch.

Woodall teamed up with Hunter Tentinger for the most tackles on the team as both players had 8.5 in the game.

Cluck ended with 6.5 tackles including a sack while freshman Braeden Kamphoff also sacked the Garrigan quarterback.

The Royals (0-5, 0-3) look to pick up their first win of the season as they return home to face North Union (1-4, 0-3) on Friday.
