Lorraine Mohan, 95, a long-time resident of Monrovia, California, died Tuesday, July 18, 2O17 in Claremont, California.
Lorraine Schiltz was born in 1922 at Remsen. Lorraine graduated from Le Mars High School and moved to San Diego, California during the war to work making parts for the military. In 1943 she married Bernard Mohan and after the war, the couple moved to Le Mars. They ran the Margo in Le Mars for many years.
They later moved to Monrovia where Bernard joined the Monrovia Fire Department and became Captain before his retirement.
Lorraine retired from GTE after 26 years of service. She was an active member of the Elk's Emblem Club, the Monrovia VFW Auxiliary, Immaculate Conception Church, and was a pillar of support to many groups in the Monrovia Community.
She was especially passionate about honoring our Veterans and spent many years assisting in the coordination of the annual Memorial Day event at Live Oak Cemetery.
She leaves behind many nieces and nephews all across this country, along with a legacy of Love & Service to God and Country.
There will be a mass at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 26, at Immaculate Conception Church, Monrovia.
