Lady Westerners down South O’Brien; Boys fall stroke short

AKRON — Behind a 46 from Bailey Davis, the Akron-Westfield girls golf team took care of business Tuesday, defeating South O’Brien 199-225.

Right behind Davis were Brooke Koele with a 48 and Ann Hedlund with a 49.

South O’Brien had two golfers tie at 53, Ally Sweeney and Rachel Sohn.

Danika Smith was the last of A-W’s top four, shooting a 56.

The boys team fell by one stroke 179-180 to South O’Brien.

Cameron Maxwell earned medalist honors with a 40 for the Wolverines.

Daniel Martinsen was runner-up for the Westerners with a 41. Jerad Black and Spencer Olsen each carded 45 scores for the day while Ty Carl had a 49 for the final counting score.
