MMCRU golf splits WEC match with H-LP

LAKE PARK -- The MMCRU golf teams faced conference foe Harris-Lake Park on Thursday, April 6, with each school picking up a win.

In the girls match, MMCRU won by a comfortable margin with a 235-260 victory. The Royals had the top three golfers on the day led by Taylor Schlenger's 54 to giver her medalist honors. Cassie Thomson and Mahaley Dirks each shot a 58 to tie for second place. The last counting score of the Royals came from Payton Leavitt who carded a 65 for the day.

The girls now have a 2-0 record in War Eagle play.

The boys team fell to 0-2 with yet another close loss. After falling to HMS by four strokes earlier in the week, the team lost by nine strokes to HLP 170-179.

The Wolves had the top three individuals and were led by Bryce Perkins' medalist round of 40. Bret Sohn was runner up with a 41 while Adrian Martin was third with a 42.

The next four individuals were all Royals as they completed their counting scores. Tristan Olson was best on the team with a 43. Right behind him was Ethan Riedemann with a 44 while Cameron Miller and Travis Weiler each shot 46s.

Runner-up: Bret Sohn, HLP 41.
