Remsen Hardware adds Consignment Store to building space
Ron and Trish Wurth have made a few changes to their hardware store. After some thought and encouragement from people in the community, they have made space in their hardware store to also open a consignment store.
The consignment store part of their building has been open for a month, and they have had good response so far from people here in town.
Trish stated that "she had always wanted to start one" (a consignment store) and "then people had mentioned that they thought it would be a good idea to have something like this in town".
When asked how long it took them to put their idea all together, Trish answered with a chuckle, "We're still putting it together and in the process."
Many items from clothes, toys, puzzles, and books line the shelves of the new space.
Trish commented, "We are always looking for different items for the store." They are accepting most items but computers and TVs.
Commission on items brought in is 50 percent.
The Wurths saw a need and have a passion for this kind of thing. Trish stated, "I couldn't have done it without my family, of course. My kids were a big help."
Ron and Trish have owned the Hardware Store for seven years and have four children, Dustin, Mike, Darric, and Caleb.
