The Le Mars Arts Center will host an artists reception this Saturday, featuring the three artists whose works are currently on display.
The reception will be from 4-6 p.m., and honors Vivian Miller, of Akron, Duane Simmons, of Onawa, and Dottie Seymour, of Woodbine.
Their show, "Bits and Pieces of My Soul," features a multi-media display from watercolor to oil to acrylics to pottery.
Saturday's reception will follow a daylong class on Mask-Making from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. led by Seymour.
Miller has been a teacher at the Arts Center for several years. She is a founding member of Le Arts, the Le Mars artists group.
Simmons has been painting since his early teenage years.
He has studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia and is a member of the Art Student League of New York.
He also studied under Oscar Howe at the University of South Dakota, in Vermillion.
Seymour is a watercolor painter who also enjoys mixed media, acrylic, paper making and encaustic, which involves beeswax mixed with the pigment.
Her inspiration comes from nature and life in general.
