Le Mars girls claim first, boys third at Bulldog Bowling Invite

LE MARS -- The Le Mars girls bowling team earned first place at the Sweet 16 Lanes on Saturday with a total of 2398 points. The MMC/R-U girls team finished third out of seven teams with a total of 2095.

The Bulldogs' boys team also fared well, claiming third place at the Bulldog Bowling Invite with 2658 points. The MMC/R-U boys ended up sixth out of eight teams with 2348.

For the Lady 'Dogs, Colleen Zenk led with a 327 series, bowling games of 166 and 161.

Katie Pope had a 318 series, rolling games of 127 and 191. Her 191 was the high game for the meet.

Pope was followed by Caitlin Hughes, who had a 314 series with games of 167 and 147.

Jennifer Cook-Howard bowled a 295 series with 155 in her first game and 140 in the second.

Danielle Hystad finished the night with a 292 series, rolling games of 127 and 165.

Susie Haack had the 'Dogs non-counting series with 243, bowling 111 and 132 in her two games.

LCS scored a total of 852 in the Baker Round and ended up on top.

The MMC/R-U girls team was led by MacKenzie Scheis, who had a series of 317 with games of 146 an 171.

Kendra Hagert had 298 for the night, rolling games of 138 and 160.

She was followed by Kendall Sailer with a 294 series, bowling 135 and 159 in her two games.

Shaina Nacke bowled a 288 series with games of 145 and 143, and Anna Bush rolled a 186 series with games of 96 and 90.

Mikayla Smith had the non-counting series with 172, rolling games of 79 and 93.

MMC/R-U scored 712 in the Baker round.

For Le Mars, Brock Hofland had a team-high 380 series, rolling games of 162 and 218, the team's high game.

Andrew Heffner followed closely with a 376 for the night with 202 in his first game and 174 in his second.

He was followed by Matt Hystad with a 352 series, bowling games of 172 and 180.

Noah Scheitler had a 315 series for the 'Dogs, with games of 164 and 151.

Gabe Jensen ended up with a 299 series, rolling games of 155 and 144.

Dom Castle had Le Mars' non-counting series with 293, bowling 144 and 149 in his two games.

The 'Dogs got 936 in the Baker round and finished 158 points ahead of fourth placed OA-BCIG.

MMC/R-U was led by Chandler Alesch with a 441 series. He bowled games of 208 and 233. Alesch's 441 was the high series of the meet.

Ben Brady had 331 for the night with games of 193 and 138.

Michael Bush had a 278 series, bowling 136 in his first game and 142 in his second.

Shane Johnson bowled a 269 series with games of 144 and 125.

Hunter Leavitt had a 245 series with 122 and 123 in his two games.

Ben Barritt had his team's non-counting series with 233. He rolled games of 126 and 107.

MMC/R-U bowled 784 in the Baker Round.
