MONDAMIN -- The Kingsley-Pierson boys fell 73-59 to West Harrison Friday on the road despite a strong second half.
West Harrison (9-8) took the early lead, with the score 20-12 after the first quarter.
The Hawkeyes built on that edge, outscoring K-P 16-9 in the second quarter to make the score 36-21 at halftime in West Harrison's favor.
The Panthers livened up in the second half, outscoring the Hawkeyes 22-21 in the third quarter to close the gap a little.
Going into the final period, West Harrison still led 57-43. An even 16-16 fourth quarter didn't get the Panthers any closer to the win.
West Harrison had three in double figures, led by junior Jake Roden with 23 points.
Kingsley-Pierson had two in double digits, led by senior Colin Henrich with 18 points. Sophomore Austin Neumann added 17 points for K-P, and senior Levi Mahrt contributed eight points for the night.
Henrich led in rebounds with eight and senior Heath Hackett and freshman Scottie Plendl each had seven.
Henrich also logged four assists and four steals against West Harrison.
The loss put K-P's record at 6-10 overall.
