The Kingsley-Pierson girls basketball team fell short 93-37 against Western Valley Conference rival Lawton-Bronson on Friday.
The Lady Panthers fought hard to keep up with their opponent's strong offense but could not prevent the Hawks pulling away with a 23-13 lead in the first quarter.
But K-P was not willing to give up and kept the game relatively close, going into the half down 41-25.
In the second half, Lawton-Bronson came roaring out of the gates and quickly added to their lead. The Lady Panthers could not find any answers on the court and were outscored 52-12 in the final two periods.
K-P freshman Marina Keck scored a team-high 10 points, followed by senior Megan Meister and freshman Rachel Mercer, who both had eight.
Senior Danielle Groepper led the team on the defensive end with five rebounds. Keck, Meister, senior Keely Collins and freshmen Abby Sitzmann all had three.
With the loss, the K-P girls have a record of 9-5. They play again on Tuesday in a conference matchup against OA-BCIG.
