Rhonda L. "Ronnie" Leach, 48, of Marcus, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Rhonda Leigh Leach was born on March 13, 1964 in Redwood City, Calif., the daughter of Jim and Suzanne (Simmons) Fields. She attended school in California. On April 13, 1985, Ronnie and Howard Douglas Leach were united in marriage at San Jose, Calif. They made their home in California until moving to Orange City, Iowa in 1994. They later moved to their present home in Marcus.

For the past eight years, Ronnie worked as a manager at the Dollar Tree in Le Mars. She was active in Relay for Life and enjoyed riding motorcycles and camping. She cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. She and Doug always welcomed their children's friends into their home and were often referred by them as "Mom and Dad."

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Dillon Leach, of Le Mars, and Clifford Leach, of Marcus; daughters, Krystal Leach, of Marcus, and Jamie Tjossem, of Paullina; six grandchildren, Devin Leach, Bailey Tjossem, Abbie Leach, Ethan Leach, Cole Tjossem, Quentin Leach; her father, Jim Fields of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Shelley Sammons and her husband Donnie, of Flower Mound, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and her grandparents.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The Rev. Jason Larson will officiate. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
