Eldora was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Mapleton, the daughter of Theodore and Gertrude (Schuh) Flammang. At the young age of 2, she moved to Kingsley with her family.
Eldora married Ralph Sitzmann Nov. 25, 1941 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley. The couple farmed and attended Neptune Catholic Church, northwest of Kingsley, until moving into Kingsley in 1978. Ralph died April 17, 2001.
Eldora was employed at Archie's Waeside and Hi-Lite Steak House, both in Le Mars. She also worked for Rudolph Co. and Rob Ross plant, both in Kingsley. She was also a florist working out of her home. Eldy worked at all of this besides helping with the farm work and raising 11 children.
Eldora is survived by her two sons; Clark, of Edgeley, N.D., and Terry (Laura), of Orange City; nine daughters, Diane (Doug) Harrington, of West Point, Neb., Karen (La Mont) Schmid, Maureen (Dennis) Schmid, both of Kingsley, Leann (Curt) Sullivan, of Bull Head City, Nev., Colette (Dave) Schinstock, of West Point, Neb., Denise (Duane) Wilson, Darnell (Roger) Ruba, Shelly (Gary) Bohlke and Stacie O'Keefe, all of Kingsley; 39 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, A.J. (Bud) Flammang of Gurnee, Ill., and a sister, Berniece Timmins of Kingsley.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; great-grandson, Blake Sitzmann; three brothers, Kenny, Leonard and Donald; and three sisters, Josephine Van Buskirk, Leona Preble, and Arlene Grabow.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Kingsley with the Rev. Mark Stoll officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Kingsley. Rosary will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. with the family present from 5-7 p.m., all at the church in Kingsley. Arrangements were made under the direction of Rohde Funeral Home in Kingsley.
