Snowmobile and ATV registrations expire Monday, Dec. 31, according to Jolynn Goodchild, Plymouth County recorder.
Renewals are made in Goodchild's office at the courthouse, 215 Fourth Ave. S.E., Le Mars, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Registrations can be completed through the mail with the appropriate fee, she said in a press release.
Goodchild and the recorder's staff are using a new registration system for off-highway vehicles.
An electronic registration through the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) combined county records, previous electronic registration and other data into a new system, according to a DNR press release.
The changes are for people registering ATVs, off-road motorcycles, off-road utility vehicles and snowmobiles, the DNR reported.
People renewing at the recorder's office are asked to bring the most recent registration; vehicle make; model and model year; vehicle identification numbers; color of vehicle, number of wheels and title information.
"Because we have the new registration process this year, it would be helpful if customers bring in their old registration," Goodchild said in the press release.
Due to the new system, people should allow extra time for their renewals, the DNR press release stated.
People with questions may call the recorder's office at 546-4020 or may email Goodchild at firstname.lastname@example.org.
