REMSEN -- An on-the-mark night for Remsen-Union senior Brittany Sudtelgte translated into a 50-31 win for the Rockets over Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn.
R-U defeated the Eagles in conference play Tuesday.
"Brittany Sudtelgte had a great night for us with 19 points and 11 rebounds," said R-U girls' coach Mike West. "Brittany Weikel also played well for us."
The R-U senior had eight points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals for the night.
The Rockets started out with a fiery first quarter, leading 12-6 going into the break. They scored 10 more in the second quarter to make their lead 22-14 at halftime.
In the third quarter, they outscored MMC 10-7 for a 32-21 lead, then went out with a bang -- piling on 18 more points while the Eagles scored 10.
"On offense we were very patient with the ball. We took care of it and worked in some quality shots," West said. "We also had solid team defense."
Senior Hailey Loutsch played good perimeter defense for the Rockets, he added.
Loutsch grabbed three steals and three rebounds, adding seven points and two assists for the night.
The Rockets went 6-of-22 from the free-throw line and 22-of-52 on field goals.
