Tiny tots and great-grandparents gathered along Central Avenue in Le Mars Saturday to watch the 16th annual Earl Utesch Memorial Lighted Children's Christmas Parade.

Families and friends watched bike riders with lighted reindeer antlers, several sizes of Santas and hayracks filled with Scout groups parade down the street towed by pickups trucks and tractors.

The wind was calm and temperatures were in the mid-40s throughout the nearly hour-long parade, which was interrupted temporarily by a train traveling across Central Avenue at First Street Southwest.

You can read all about it and see pictures in editions of the Le Mars Daily Sentinel Monday and Tuesday and on this website.

The train just gave the Sioux City Sillies a chance to do what they do best. Entertain the crowd. We had a blast. What a magical night!
