Instructions being prepared for jury in Jandreau case

Monday, November 19, 2012

Closings arguments are expected yet this afternoon (Monday) in Plymouth County District Court in the trial of Matthew Jandreau, 20, of Le Mars, according to Plymouth County Clerk of Court Peggy Frericks.

Jandreau is accused of a crime spree March 2, which Le Mars Police said included an attempt to assault an 11-year-old female after a break-in at a home.

Early this (Monday) afternoon, jurors were out of the courtroom while attorneys and Judge Jeffrey Neary reviewed instructions to jurors.

The written directions had been submitted by Plymouth County Attorney Darin Raymond who is prosecuting Jandreau and attorney Mike Williams, of Sioux City, who is representing Jandreau.

The instructions will be given to jurors by Judge Neary before the jurors deliberate to consider a verdict of guilty or not guilty to any of the seven criminal charges.

The trial began with jury selection Nov 13.
