CVB to receive tourism grant

Thursday, November 8, 2012

Christmas events in Le Mars will be promoted with money awarded to the Le Mars Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB).

A $1,490 Western Iowa Tourism Region grant will help the CVB pay for TV advertising to promote local Christmas festivities.

Other grant dollars will help pay for banners to be displayed at the new downtown Visitors Center to promote Le Mars events and attractions.

The Visitors Center is under construction in the former First National Bank drive-through facility on Central Avenue.

Volunteers from the tourism industry evaluated projects in the 35-county western Iowa tourism region for the grants, according to a press release from the Western Iowa Tourism Region.

"The city of Le Mars Convention and Visitors Bureau is deserving of this grant award and is a real asset to Plymouth County and western Iowa," said Sue Schrad, Western Iowa Tourism Advertising Grant chairwoman.
