A tour of the Natural Foods Packing Plant, Sioux Preme Packing, Sioux Center, is set for Nov. 29 as a part of the fall kick-off Northwest Young Farmer program sponsored jointly by Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach and the Iowa Farm Bureau.
The Young Farmer program for ages 18 -35 focuses on empowering young farm men and women to be better business partners through networks and educational peer groups.
Tour participants for safety considerations must be 18 years old or older to attend with space limited to the first 30 registrants.
Participants are asked to meet at 2:30 p.m. at the Sioux County Fairgrounds multi-purpose building and will following the tour return to the fairgrounds for an informational programs. Among topics to be discussed will be working with landlords, risk management practices and land values.
A 7 p.m. dinner will follow the program event with no cost to attend.
