Leaf, grass site is open again

Tuesday, October 23, 2012

The city of Le Mars free leaf and grass disposal site on Highway 3 West reopened today (Tuesday).

The city shut down the collection site on Oct. 12 due to a fire.

Clean up work has been underway since last week.

"In an effort to get citizens caught up on disposal, we will have the site open and manned today (Tuesday) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.," Le Mars Assistant City Administrator Bill Cole said.

The site will be open and manned from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesdays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays, weather permitting, according to Cole.

Residents may also take yard waste to the Plymouth County Landfill, 34898 150th St., Le Mars for a fee.

Landfill hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
