K-P blanked by H-LP

KINGSLEY -- Kingsley-Pierson was shut out for the first time this season on Friday in a 48-0 drubbing at the hands of Harris-Lake Park.

K-P is now 3-5 overall and 3-3 in Class 8-Man District 1 play. The Panthers must travel to district-leading No. 7 Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn (8-0, 6-0) this Friday.

K-P senior quarterback Colin Henrich was sacked just once in the loss to H-LP (6-2, 5-1), but was just 4-for-13 passing for 106 yards and an interception. Sophomore Austin Neumann was 0-for-5 passing later in the game.

The Panthers were held to 76 yards on 35 rushing attempts. Henrich was contained to 24 yards on 15 runs.

Neumann led K-P in receiving with two catches for 75 yards. Neumann also ran four times for 18 yards.

Senior Clint Donaldson was contained to eight yards on one reception and 16 rushing yards on eight attempts.

Senior Alex Plendl led the Panthers with four solo tackles and nine total tackles. Henrich also made four solo stops and assisted on two more.

Mahrt made three solo tackles and assisted on two more. Mahrt also caught one 23-yard pass. Freshmen Jacob Harvey and Scotty Plendl each made three solo tackles.

K-P and Remsen St. Mary's are both 3-3 in conference. RSM will finish the regular season this Friday at H-LP.

River Valley improved to 2-4 in district play last Friday with a win over Whiting. River Valley defeated K-P earlier in the season, but lost to K-P. K-P defeated RSM 42-18 in Week 6.
