Ronald F. Mohlmann, 61, of Merrill, died suddenly Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, in Sioux City.
Ronald Fred Mohlmann was born March 8, 1951, in Akron, the son of George C. and Lillian M. (Giffrow) Mohlman.
Ron received his education at Le Mars Central High School. Following high school, Ron served his country in the United States Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, he began working for the Burlington Northern Railroad in Sioux City. He worked as a switchman, foreman, and track inspector during his 28-year career with Burlington Northern.
Ron enjoyed the time he spent hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his father, George C. Mohlmann of Merrill; two daughters, Carla Mohlmann, of Sioux City, and her children, Sierrah Wilson and Devon Edwards, and Jenny Mohlmann, of Sioux City; two sisters, LeeAnn Shever and her husband, Craig, of Cushing, and Karen Mafnas, of Columbia, Tenn.; an aunt, Marcia Giffrow of Sioux City; and a niece and nephew.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Mohlmann on April 6, 2012.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill, with the Rev. Merrill Muller of the Merrill United Methodist Church officiating. Arrangements are with the Carlsen Funeral Home of Le Mars.
