Gerald and Dolores Sitzmann

Gerald and Dolores (Kommes) Sitzmann, of rural Hinton, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, with an open house from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Le Mars.

There will be a 5 p.m. Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church by the Rev. Gene Sitzmann and the Rev. Kevin Richter. Mass will be held in the Gehlen Catholic High School Gymnasium due to construction and will be offered for the couple, their son Joe and grandson Blake Sitzmann.

The golden celebration will be hosted by their family: Duane (Kaye) Sitzmann, of Sioux Center, Ray ( Shelly) Sitzmann, of Le Mars, John (Deb) Sitzmann, of Fort Dodge, Blaine (Wendi) Sitzmann, of Clermont, Fla., and Brenda (Brian) Kolbeck, of Le Mars. The couple has 13 grandchildren: Haley and Mandy Sitzmann, of Sioux Center, Colin and Devin Sitzmann, of Omaha, Neb., Linden Sitzmann, of Cedar Falls, Lauren Sitzmann, of Iowa City, Tristan and Payton Sitzmann, of Fort Dodge, Landon Sitzmann, of Clermont, Fla., and Josie, Alyssa, Nathan and Breanna Kolbeck, of Le Mars.

Gerald Sitzmann and the former Dolores Kommes were married Sept. 1, 1962, at St. Joseph Catholic Church by the Rev. Gene Sitzmann.

Gerald and Dolores have farmed in the Neptune area all their married life and belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Neptune.

Gerald is retired from farming and Dolores is retired after 44 years of nursing at Sacred Heart Hospital and then Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.
