Adam Fitzgerald Kohler, 30, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and formerly of Marysville, Mich., died unexpectedly Tuesday, July 17, 2012, in Albuquerque, N.M., while hiking.

He was born April 18, 1982, in Houston, Texas, the son of Mark and Sharon (Fitzgerald) Kohler. His parents are both 1975 graduates of Le Mars Community High School.

Adam graduated with honors from Marysville (Mich.) High School in 2000. He was a musician, entertainer and philosopher. He enjoyed cooking, hockey and conversations about Superman.

He is survived by his father, Mark (Kathy) Kohler of Marysville, Mich.; his mother, Sharon Kohler of Marysville, Mich.; a brother, Jordan Kohler; a sister, Mallory Kohler; his fiancÚ, Melissa Hernandez; two step-brothers, Robert Zandarski and Hank Zandarski; a step-sister, Elizabeth Zandarski; a niece, Alexis; many aunts, uncles, including Kenny Kohler, Tom Kohler, and Jan and Jim Utesch, all of Le Mars; many cousins and his beloved dog, Hank.

Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 22, in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz officiated. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Saturday and 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Marysville Funeral Home.
