Tour de Plymouth ride set for Saturday

Bicyclists are invited to ride in the Plymouth County Cyclists 5th annual Tour de Plymouth Saturday.

Cyclists will choose from a 25-mile, 60-mile or 100-mile ride, all of which start at 8 a.m. leaving from Bike Central, 200 Central Ave. N.E., Le Mars.

Following the ride, there will be hot dogs and refreshments at Bike Central.

At 3 p.m. prizes -- including an adult road bike valued at $700 -- will be given away. People need not be present to win.

Corrections:

Roy Townsend, Washta, of the Cherokee/Plymouth County Corn Growers was incorrectly identified as Ray Townsend in the Agriculture Page of the Thursday, July 5 edition of the Le Mars Daily Sentinel.

In an education page item published Monday, July 2, Lindsay Martin's parents should have been listed as Blaine and Terri Martin of Le Mars. Lindsay was named to the dean's list at Morningside College.

ARREST:

JULY 3 -- Police arrested Tameka Ruppert, 51, Le Mars, at 12:20 p.m. at 424 Fifth Ave. N.W. on a Plymouth County warrant for failure to appear in court.

Ruppert was taken to the Plymouth County Jail.

Dispositions

Ryan James Delaroi, 36, of Sioux City, pleaded guilty to the aggravated misdemeanor of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. This is his second offense. His license was revoked and he was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 28 days suspended and credit for two days inpatient treatment, and a fine of $1,875. He was placed on probation for two years and ordered to participate in a reality education program.

Jeffrey Alan Walker, 50, of Spirit Lake, pleaded guilty to the aggravated misdemeanor of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. This is his second offense. His license was revoked and he was sentenced to 180 days in jail with all but seven days suspended, and a fine of $1,875. He was placed on probation for two years.

Douglas Joe Hofland, 20, of Le Mars, was found in violation of his probation. His deferred judgment and probation were revoked.

Dissolution of Marriage

Robert Allen Kolar, 51, and Jodi Rae Kolar, 50, both of Merrill, were granted their marriage be dissolved on June 26, 2012. They were married in Walnut Grove, Minn., on August 2, 1980.
