In the first game of the doubleheader, the Lady Westerners won 12-0 in three innings.
A-W (32-1) scored just one run in the bottom of the first inning before adding eight runs in the second and three in the third.
Sophomore Dana Hedlund was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Senior Monica Harvey added two hits and two runs scored. Senior Melissa Kroksh recorded two hits and an RBI. Junior Katie Coyle was 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Senior Brandi Davis pitched three perfect innings for the Lady Westerners. She struck out six of the nine batters she faced.
In the second game of the doubleheader, A-W picked up right where it left off in the first game. The Lady Westerners kept the offense rolling and defeated West Sioux 13-0 in three innings.
Sophomore Kayla Tindall led A-W's offense. She was 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored. Junior Haley Coyle added two hits and three RBIs.
Davis recorded two hits and two RBIs. Kroksh tallied a hit and two RBIs. Harvey had a hit and an RBI.
Hedlund pitched all three innings for the Lady Westerners. She allowed one hit and faced just 10 batters while striking out three.
"We put the ball in play real well tonight," A-W coach Todd Colt said. "I thought our kids made some good choices running the bases. It was a great opportunity for some of our future players to get some quality time."
A-W will play its final regular season game of the season when it travels to Hinton on Friday.
