KINGSLEY -- The Kingsley-Pierson baseball team scored early and defeated West Harrison 8-4 on Wednesday in Kingsley.
The Panthers (16-7) fell behind when the Hawkeyes scored a run in the top of the first inning. But K-P responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning and two more in the second to take a 6-1 lead.
The Hawkeyes cut the lead to 6-3 with two runs in the third inning, but the Panthers added a run in their half of the third and another in the fourth. West Harrison added its final run in the top of the seventh.
The Panthers combined for 10 hits and 10 stolen bases. Senior Tate Rohde was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and five stolen bases. Junior Colin Henrich added two hits and three RBIs.
Senior Travis Neumann recorded two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Freshman Austin Neumann had a hit, an RBI, two stolen bases and two runs scored.
Junior Levi Mahrt pitched a complete game and gave up two earned runs on nine hits. He struck out nine and walked five.
K-P will play again Thursday at home against Trinity Christian.
