KINGSLEY -- The Kingsley-Pierson softball team defeated Trinity Christian 7-5 on Tuesday in Kingsley.
Each team scored two runs in the first inning, and Trinity Christian (3-8) took a 4-2 lead with two runs in the third. But the Lady Panthers (4-15) took control of the game when they scored five runs in the bottom of the third. Trinity Christian fought back with a run in the top of the fifth but couldn't score any more.
The Lady Panthers combined for eight hits and six stolen bases. They were also given six free passes.
Marina Keck led the offense with three hits, two runs scored, two stolen bases and an RBI. Megan Meister added two hits, two runs and an RBI. Rebecca Quade had a triple and four RBIs. Abby Sitzmann and Keely Collins also hit safely for K-P.
Keck pitched a complete game and allowed just one earned run on five hits. She struck out two and walked one.
K-P will play again Wednesday at MVAO.
