Joan M. (Ohlendorf) Daniels, 70, of rural Remsen, died Friday, May 4, 2012, at Holy Spirit Retirement Center in Sioux City.
Joan Marcia Ohlendorf was born Feb. 13, 1942, the daughter of Weldon and Ida (Kirchoff) Ohlendorf of Remsen. Joan was the oldest of five Ohlendorf children, from an early age Joan always helped others before helping herself.
Joan studied education at Western Union College before working in Sioux City and then moving to Kansas City.
She was united in marriage to Conrad Daniels in August 1970, raising a daughter, Teddi, and son, Jarad. In Kansas City, Conrad and Joan divorced after both children were grown and on their own.

May we all now take peace knowing that Joan is resting comfortably in heaven with God. Joan, we bid you shalom, knowing that you are now at peace.
