Larry Sheehan, 61, of Remsen, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Larry was born June 22, 1950, at Le Mars, IA the son of Leslie and Norma (Loutsch) Sheehan. He was raised and educated in the Remsen area and graduated from Remsen-Union High School in 1968. He then attended Iowa State University.

He entered the Air National Guard in June of 1969 and served until May 1975. Larry then farmed south of Remsen.

On May 25, 1979, he married Renee Kunkel at Remsen.

Larry was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church and American Legion Post 220 of Remsen. Larry loved watching sports, especially I.S.U., the Broncos and Cardinals. He loved his John Deere's and farming. He also loved being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include: his wife Renee, of Remsen; four children, Trisha (Jeremy) Stoeber, Ryan (Renee) Sheehan and their daughter Mckenna, all of Le Mars, Daniel (Lori) Sheehan and their son, Lucas, Neil (Krystal) Sheehan and their daughter, Breeana, all of Remsen; his mother, Norma Tentinger of Remsen; his brother, Pat (Mary) Sheehan, of Le Mars; his sister, Madonna (John) Shelso, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; his stepbrother, Mike (Rochelle) Tentinger, of Remsen; his stepsister, Peggy (Blain) Butner, of Arlington, Va.; father and mother-in-law, Orville and Colleen Kunkel; five brothers-in-law, Chuck (Mary) Kunkel, of Omaha, Neb., Kevin (Audrey) Kunkel of Fremont, Neb., Jim (Karen) Kunkel, of Marcus, David Kunkel, of Remsen, Roger (Kristie) Kunkel, of Sioux City; four sisters-in-law, Michelle (Dave) Reinholt, of Canon City, Colo., Barb Pierson, of Le Mars, Connie (Kurt) Schneekloth, of Oakland, Neb., and Shannan (Bill) Schreiner, of Remsen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Leslie, and his stepfather Emmert Tentinger,

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. Sunday. There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
