Larry W. Marbach, 68, of Arlington, S.D., and a former resident of Brookings, S.D., and Le Mars, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at the Golden Living Center in Arlington.

Larry William Marbach was born May 14, 1943, in Le Mars, the son of Lowell W. and Anna (Schutte) Marbach.

Larry received his education in Le Mars, and was a graduate of the Cleveland High School in Reseda, Calif., in 1961. He continued his education and received his AAS degree in telecommunications in Sioux City. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966 until his discharge in 1971.

Larry was employed at various places during his lifetime, and was most recently employed at Daktronics in Brookings, S.D.

Larry loved to spend time with his family and friends, and also enjoyed his cats. He also enjoyed collecting guns, fixing old radios, model cars and painting pictures of his cats.

Larry was very active in the community and enjoyed visiting with people.

He is survived by twin sisters, Lynell Marbach of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Loanne Bates of Lead, S.D., and one niece, several nephews and cousins.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Rude's Funeral Home in Brookings, S.D. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service.
