Lillian M. Mohlmann, 85, of Merrill, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at her home in Merrill.
Lillian Mae Giffrow was born Nov. 29, 1926 in Akron, the daughter of Richard and Margaret (Johnson) Giffrow. Lillian attended country school near Adaville.
She was united in marriage to George Mohlmann June 3, 1950 in Slayton, Minn. The couple had made their home in Merrill.
Through the years, Lillian had worked at the Merrill Locker, worked as a painter and wall paper installer, and cleaned houses for people.
Lillian enjoyed sewing, going fishing with family, and traveling. She cherished the family fishing trips to Minnesota.
Her greatest joy in life was time spent with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, George of Merrill; three children: Ronald Mohlmann, of Merrill, Karen Mafnas, of Merrill, and LeeAnn Shaver and her husband, Craig, of Cushing; five grandchildren: Coral Randall, Carla Mohlmann, Jenny Mohlmann, Stephanie Shever, and Skylar Shever; four great-grandchildren: Sierrah Wilson, Deven Edwards, Conner Randall, and Brenna Randall; a sister-in-law, Marcia Giffrow, of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Margaret (Johnson) Giffrow; three brothers, Harry, Fred, and Harvey Giffrow; and five sisters, Dorothy Meinjohans, Myrtle DeYeoger, Lucille Scansen, Gladys Williams, and Margaret Nelson.
Private family graveside services will be held today (Monday) at Hillside Cemetery in Merrill. Arrangements are with the Carlsen Funeral Home of Le Mars.
