Rosemary Frances Leber, 88, of Sioux City, died Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.
Rosemary was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Sioux City, the daughter of John and Agnes (McLaughlin) Geary. She received her schooling in Le Mars, graduating from Le Mars Central High School in 1940.
Rosemary married William Leber Sept. 4, 1943, in California.
Rosemary worked for Beane Plumbing and Heating where she retired after more than 30 years.
She enjoyed bowling and collecting glass and dishes. She was a master duplicate bridge player.
She volunteered at the Catholic Bargain Center and was a board member for nearly 30 years. She was also a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters, and the American Business Women's Association.
Rosemary is survived by four brothers, Bernard (Nellie) Geary of Sioux City, Richard (Bonnie) Geary of Kansas, Leo (Eileen) Geary of Sioux City, and Joseph (Margene) Geary of Hinton; three sisters, Margaret Grosenheider of Le Mars, Cecelia (Gene) Hutton of Sioux City, and Agnes (James) Thelen of Le Mars; one sister-in-law, Leone Geary of Marion; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; one brother, Vincent; one sister-in-law, Ruth; one brother-in-law, Lloyd; one niece, Kathy; and one great-niece.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Daniel Guenther officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, from 4-8 p.m. with the family present from 6-8 p.m., with a vigil service at 6 p.m., all at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel in SIoux City.
