Minnie was born Jan. 12, 1945, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Le Mars, the daughter of Lawrence and Bernetta (Boothby) Reinert. Minnie was raised in Marcus and educated at Holy Name Catholic School through her junior year then attended Marcus Public School, graduating in 1963. She worked in a Café in Marcus for a few years.
On July 13, 1963 she married John Schroeder at Marcus. The couple lived in Le Mars for a few years before moving to Remsen. Minnie and John resided on the family farm for 36 years where they currently lived. She worked at Sacred Heart Hospital, Happy Siesta Health Care Center, Plymouth County Dairy, Harker's in Le Mars, Tyson in Le Mars, Hardees in Le Mars, Continental Deli in Cherokee, Curley's Food in Sioux City, where she was currently working.
Minnie was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and church guild. Minnie loved spending time with her family which was most important to her, shopping, working hard, Christmas, giving to others, living in the country.
Survivors include her husband, John of Remsen; six children, daughter, Tammy Jarmuzek, of Remsen, daughter, Deb Noah and her husband, Mike, of Sioux Falls, S.D., daughter Cindy Christensen and Kevin of Cleghorn, son, Todd Schroeder and his wife, Shawn, of Remsen, daughter, Jaci Kalsbeck and her husband, Kevin, of Kearney, Neb., Tim Schroeder of Le Mars; 17 grandchildren, Treavor and Tiffany Jarmuzek, Adam and Austin Noah, Codey Christensen, Chris, Meggan and Jon Schroeder, Derek Swain, Kendall and Deven Sailer, Maci and Molli Kalsbeck, Lexis, Kole and Peytyn Schroeder; four great-grandchildren, Koby Jarmuzek, Karter Klein, Ava Schroeder, Khloe Noah; one expected great-granddaughter, Grace; her mother, Bernetta Reinert of Marcus; her brothers and sisters, Judy Lubben and her husband, Jerry, of Remsen, Larry Reinert, of Cherokee, LeRoy Reinert and his wife, Sandy, of Kentucky, Becky Bentzinger and her husband, Rusty, of Pella; Her mother-in-law, Joan Schroeder of Remsen.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence (LJ) Reinert and one grandson, Steven Christensen.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. Tim Johnson officiating and the Rev. William McCarthy concelebrating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. today (Tuesday). There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m., all at the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Casketbearers will be Treavor Jarmuzek, Chris Schroeder, Codey Christensen, Adam Noah, Jon Schroeder, Austin Noah. Honorary bearers will be: Derek Swain, Deven Sailer, Kole Schroeder.
