Merlin and Rose Giesen

Rose Shook of Le Mars and Merlin Giesen of Slayton, Minn., were united in marriage Sept. 3, 2011, at the Le Mars Convention Center. The Rev. John Battern officiated the 5 p.m. double ring ceremony before a lighted arch.

Sheila Crowley of Fulda, Minn., was soloist. Music was was a CD of piano music by Bruce Smith.

Parents of the couple are Wilbur and Betty Van Gelder of Le Mars, and the late Clarence and Tillie Giesen of Slayton, Minn.

Matron of honor was Shelley Simons of Marcus, daughter of the bride. Bridesmaid was Melissa Harms of Le Mars, daughter of the bride.

Flowergirl was Kaylee Simons, granddaughter of the bride.

Best man was James Giesen of Slayton, Minn., son of the bridegroom.

Ringbearers were Keaton Giesen, grandson of the bridegroom, and Dylan Harms, grandson of the bride.

Rose is employed with BPI Technology in Dakota Dunes, S.D., and JCPenney in Sioux City.

Merlin is employed with New Vision Co-op in Worthington, Minn.

The couple is at home on the family acreage near Slayton.
