Lane Wilson, 24, of Le Mars, formerly of Sioux City and Kingsley, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at his home following a courageous battle with colon cancer.
Lane Paul Dean Wilson was born Sept. 2, 1987, in Sioux City, the son of Dean and Kelly (Holdcroft) Wilson. He attended elementary and high school in Kingsley. Following his education, Lane worked in food service at various locations in the area.
Lane was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing softball. He was an accomplished poker player and participated in area dart and pool leagues.
He will be lovingly remembered by his mother, Kelly Mesner of Le Mars; father, Dean Wilson of Kingsley; a sister, Josie Wilson of Sioux City; grandparents, Arlene Lage and Edward and Carol Sue Holdcroft, all of Kingsley; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul Wilson; and aunt Pauline Mesenbrink.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars. The Rev. Duane Miesner of First Lutheran Church in Kingsley will officiate. Burial will follow at the Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home with the family present from 5-7 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9 a.m. Friday and will continue until the funeral service.
