Charlotte Ann Strang, 68, of Le Mars, died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Charlotte Ann Strang was born March 26, 1943, in Portland, Ore., the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth (Wasson) Fields. She attended school in Oregon.

Following her education, Charlotte lived in Oregon and California where she raised her family.

In August 1980, Charlotte married Virgil Strang in Vancouver, Wash. They later moved to Sanborn, Iowa. They called Le Mars their home for the last 13 years.

Charlotte loved being with family and friends. She loved get-togethers and celebrating life.

Charlotte enjoyed cooking, country music and dancing. She also enjoyed watching "judge shows" on television.

Charlotte was a kind-hearted woman who was always willing to help others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and good friend.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Virgil of Le Mars; a son, James Neal Barnes and his wife, Delaine, and their children, Tynan and Austin of Wilsonville, Ore.; a daughter, Tawnya Wallace of Perris, Calif., and her son, Mitchell (Nicole) Wolff of Faribault, Minn.; a daughter, Shawnde Schimmer and her husband, Paul of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Leeann-marie DeJager and her husband, Deric and their children, Gaven and Ashlyn, of Sioux City; grandchildren, Veda and Carter Strang of Anthon; a sister, Mary (Harold) White of Albany, Ore.; a brother, Charles (Karen) Fields of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Diane (Ralph) Champ of Albany, Ore.; a sister, Kathy (Gene Bogosian) Fields of Salem, Ore.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sons, Littlejohn-Homer J. Wallace and Jordon Ashley Strang; and a sister, Sharon Burnett.

In accordance with Charlotte's wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date.

The Mauer - Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars is assisting Charlotte's family with arrangements.
