Ronald was born July 2, 1939, the son of Cletus and Adeline (Dickson) Bohlke of Le Mars. After graduating from Gehlen High School in 1956, Ronnie moved to California and graduated from El Camino College.
He worked for Delta Airlines and, upon retirement, enjoyed traveling around the country visiting his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.
Ronald was a free spirit who spent a majority of his time with his beloved dogs throughout the years: Shadow, Rita Mae, Reba, Jackson, Rosie and his cat, Elmo.
He is best remembered for his sense of humor. Ronnie was always a joy to be around and always lived for the moment.
He especially loved the Mohave Desert and Las Vegas.
He is survived by his son, Donald, of Lincoln, Neb.; brothers and sisters, Bettie Beach of Le Mars; Tom Bohlke of Hinton; Juletta Carney of Le Mars; Mary Ruhland of Hawarden; Jean Mohrhauser, of Le Mars; Mike Bohlke of Westfield; Dennis Bohlke of Hawarden; Rick Bohlke of Henderson, Nev.; Connie Schlaback, of Bettendorf; Nancy Pearson of LeClaire; Chuck Bohlke of Le Mars; Cindy Ingenthron of Sioux City; and Lori Shively of Denver, Colo.; granddaughters Ashley Toutsch of Sioux City and Brittany Bohlke of Le Mars; and many nieces and nephews.
