Teams are gearing up for the fifth annual Le Mars Sprint Triathlon Saturday.
The swimming, biking and running event starts at 9 a.m. at the Le Mars Outdoor Pool.
Competitors need to have their transition areas set up, their numbers on and be ready to go by 8:20 a.m. Instructions will be given at 8:40 a.m.
The triathlon includes a 300-yard swim, a 15-mile bike ride and a 5K run.
Bicyclists will start at the outdoor pool and travel east on county road C-30 to K-64 from Le Mars and back to the city.
Runners will follow a residential route through Le Mars in neighborhoods around the outdoor pool.
Angela Loutsch, Le Mars YMCA, recommends motorists avoid 15th Street Southeast, where most of the runners will be, and 12th Street Southeast during the triathlon.
Teams may be made up of co-ed, all male or all female athletes age 15 years and older.
Prizes will be awarded to top winners in each age division, overall top three males, top three females and overall top male team, female team and co-ed team, according to information on the YMCA's website.
Volunteers are needed to help during the triathlon.
