Jo Ann Sudtelgte, 59, of Remsen, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at her home in Remsen.

Jo Ann was born June 21, 1951, at Le Mars, the daughter of LeRoy and Maxine (Kilker) Rolling.

Jo Ann was raised in the Oyens area and graduated from St. Mary's High School with the class of 1969.

On Sept. 9, 1972 she married Mark Sudtelgte at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Oyens.

Since 1973, she lived in the Remsen area doing home daycare and for the past 20 years she worked as a Wal Mart department manager in Le Mars.

Jo Ann was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and church guild, Catholic Order of Foresters. She thoroughly enjoyed being a grandma and a mother to her three children. Jo Ann had an amazing faith in Jesus Christ and she knew she was saved.

She had a wonderful collection of rocks and angels. We will never look at a rock the same.

Survivors include; her husband, Mark of Remsen; daughter, Anita Penning and her husband, Talon and their children, Audra Jo and Andrea Ann of Remsen; daughter, Angela Graham and her husband, Robert and their children, Elsie and Simon of Spencer; one son, Kyle Sudtelgte and his wife, Angela (Plathe) of Chicago, Ill.; two sisters, Marilyn Maly and her husband, Marvin of Onawa and Marie Benedix of Correctionville; five brothers, Russ Rolling and his wife, Pam of Oyens, Jim Rolling of Glenwood, Larry Rolling of Le Mars, Kirk Rolling of Oyens, and Glenn Rolling and his wife, Julie of Hinton; her mother-in-law, Audrey Sudtelgte and her special friend, Bill Rogers of Remsen; two sister-in-laws, Marlene Sitzmann and her husband, Curt of Le Mars, and Ann Johnson and her husband, Terry of Colorado Springs, Colo.; five brothers-in-law, Lyle Schuetz of Alton, Paul Sudtelgte and his wife, Deb of Colorado Springs, Colo., John Sudtelgte and his wife, Patty of Payson, Ariz., Dave Sudtelgte and his wife, Deb of Lakeland, Minn., and Kenneth Sudtelgte and his wife, Connie of Remsen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson Derek Penning; one sister, Janice Schuetz; one brother, Robert Rolling; one nephew, Patrick Sitzmann; one sister-in-law, LeAnn Rolling; one brother-in-law, Robert Benedix; and her father-in-law, Earl Sudtelgte.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. William McCarthy and Deacon Rick Roder officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 3 p.m. Sunday. There will be a parish rosary at 4 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., followed by a Catholic Order of Foresters Rosary, all at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen.

Casketbearers will be Jim, Russ, Larry, Glenn and Kirk Rolling, Ken Schuetz. C.O.F. honorary bearers will be Larry, Ann, Jim, Lavonne and Randy Galles, Don and Gin Konz, Lyle and Ethel Heidesch, Fred Roling, Linda Schroeder and Ervin Ahlers.

Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to Father Lloyd Fiedler and Lar Batista Biblico (an orphanage in Brazil that Jo Ann supported).
