Amy was born Aug. 9, 1973, at Sioux City, the daughter of Larry and Ann (Harpenau) Galles.
Amy was raised in the Remsen area and attended Remsen-Union School, graduating in 1992. Amy lived in Primghar with the Pride Group and worked in various establishments through the Pride Group.
Amy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Catholic Order of Foresters. One of Amy's greatest loves was spending time with her family.
Survivors include her parents, Larry and Ann Galles of Remsen; one brother, Tom Galles and his fiancée, Adrienne Valentine of Sioux City; one sister, Lisa Zbylut and her husband, Kris of Papillion, Neb.; her nieces and nephews, Cameron Galles, Claire, Connor, Zoe and Zac Zbylut; and several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her brother Russ Galles; her maternal grandparents, Henry and Mildred Harpenau; her paternal grandparents, Arnold and Coletta Galles.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Remsen with the Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Friends may call anytime after 2 p.m. today (Monday). There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Catholic Order of Foresters rosary, all at the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Casketbearers will be Barry Galles, Ken and Keith Ahlers, Terry Schilmoeller, Jason Bohnenkamp, Rick Harpenau. Catholic Order of Foresters honorary bearers will be Mike, Steve, Brad, Nick and Margaret Galles, Lee, Mike, Eric and Mark Harpenau, Tony Schroeder, Jennifer Ruba and Laura Bohnenkamp.
