Hildred G. Hollinger, 90, of Merrill died Friday, April 15, 2011, at Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City, Neb.
Hildred G. Hollinger, daughter of Ira R. and Maude J. (Butcher) Golden, was born Jan. 25, 1921, in Onawa. She attended school in Rodney and Onawa, graduating from Onawa in 1939. She moved to Sioux City where she worked on the assembly line at Wincharger and then Zenith before retiring.
On July 1, 1958, she married Harold Hollinger in LuVerne, Minn. About 30 years ago, they moved to an acreage west of Merrill.
Hildred liked to work crossword puzzles and was a good cook. She liked cats and always had one or two in the house and several outside.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Harold "Holly", a cousin, Bernedine Petersen of Moville; and numerous nieces, nephews, other cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and their wives: Ted and Elaine Golden and Maurice and Lauretta Golden; a nephew, Maurice Golden, Jr. and his wife, Shirley; and a niece, Marsha Krogh.
Private family services will be held at the Onawa Cemetery, Onawa. Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa is in charge of arrangements.
