Brendan and Mallory Berkenpas

Mallory Baack and Brendan Berkenpas of Le Mars were united in married Oct. 30, 2010, at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars. The Rev. Timothy Geitz officiated the 4 p.m. ceremony.

Mallory is the daughter of Jim and Brenda Baack and Brendan is the son of Jeff and Darla Berkenpas, all of Le Mars.

Jennifer Heisterkamp was organist and Sally Sams was soloist.

Madi Baack of Le Mars, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Anna Peterson of Topeka, Kan., Becky Berkenpas of Le Mars, cousin of the bridegroom, Kaitlyn Berkenpas of Le Mars, sister of the bridegroom and Nicole Liebau of Waverly, sister of the bridegroom.

Elizabeth Dempster of Merrill, cousin of the bridegroom, was flowergirl.

Best man was Mike Berkenpas of Le Mars, cousin of the bridegroom. Groomsmen were Kyle Shay of Merrill, Shaun Niehus of Le Mars, Kyle Niehus of Le Mars, and Cody Liebau of Waverly, brother-in-law of the bridegroom.

Ringbearers were Zach Dempster of Merrill, cousin of the bridegroom and Tyler Sundt of Le Mars, cousin of the bride.

Seating the wedding guests were Chris Newman of Sioux City and Matt Detloff of Remsen.

The reception was held at Willow Creek Country Club in Le Mars immediately following the ceremony.

Mallory is a 2006 graduate of Le Mars Community High School and a 2010 graduate of Dana College in Blair, Neb., with a bachelor of social work degree. She is a renewal and support specialist with Lutheran Services in Iowa and Iowa KidsNet.

Brendan is a 2000 graduate of Le Mars Community High School and a 2001 graduate of Northwest Iowa Technical Community College in Sheldon. He is self-employed.

The couple is at home in Le Mars.
